Sarah Louise Dickey, age 80, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away in her home Friday, December 11, 2020. She was born March 27, 1940 in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of George Harry and Clara Ida Belle (Lamb) Pence. In 1959 she was united in marriage to Ronald Glen Dickey.
Sarah graduated from California State University, Bakersfield. An accountant, Sarah was also a business broker, substitute teacher, Army wife for 15 years, and stay at home mother for her children. In 1992 the family moved from California. Sarah retired from the continuing education department of Missouri State University.
She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Springfield, and had been active in the church until illness prevented it. She loved dishes and flowers, Always creative Sarah enjoyed China painting, quilting, and sewing.
Survivors include: Her husband, Ronald; two children and their spouses, Nathan “Glen” and Christina Dickey, of New Boston, New Hampshire, and April and Paul Mika of Ozark; grandchildren, Amanda, Grace and Finn. During her time at the University Sarah came to love and “adopted” Hester Kong. She survives along with her husband John Yin and children, Sammy and Danny. Sarah is also survived by sisters and a brother, Rose Mohler and Jerry, Vicki Klein and Monte, Joe Gwinn and Mona, Judy Love and Ernie, and Sherry Peladeau; cousins; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-mother Louise Pence; her step-father Bud Gwinn; three sisters, Christine Gwinn, Melody Oakley, and Alice Avery; two brothers-in-law James Peladeau and Rod Avery.
A funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, December 17, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 2210 West Republic Road, Springfield, Missouri. Burial will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
