On Thursday November 19, 2020, Donald Sherron Porch, “Uncle Donald”, peacefully passed away at age 77 at Rosebud Nursing Home.
Donald was born February 21, 1943 in Birmingham, Alabama to Marie Rosetta Porch. He attended Woodlawn High School in Birmingham where he played the drums for the marching band. Donald moved to Richmond, Indiana over 50 years ago under the guidance of his older brother Robert Porch. He was baptized and accepted Christ at an early age and attended Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond. He worked several jobs, but his latest job was with Tansilwrap Manufacturing Company until he retired.
Donald had a kind heart and really loved people, he loved to laugh and have fun. He never met a stranger and would invite his friends and family over for cookouts, Thanksgiving, Christmas with delicious meals and a full table spread. He thought he was the best man for the grill and had his special BBQ sauce but would never give out the recipe. Donald had a big heart and would do anything for anyone at any time.
Donald is proceeded in death by his mother Marie R. Porch, brothers Robert and Wayne Porch and his long-time companion Carol Isom and dog Jazzy.
He leaves to cherish his memory his sister Linda M. Porch-Sligh, his son Timothy Reynolds and his wife Sarah, his sister-in-law Mary Agnes Porch and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday November 27th, 2020 at Community Family Funeral Home at 1 o’clock pm. Flowers may be sent to Community Family Funeral Home at 101 W Main St, Richmond, IN 47374
