Because of water main valve replacements in a section of Centerville, it will be necessary for customers on those streets to be under a boil advisory starting Monday, Sept. 21, until further notice.
The area affected: From Walnut Street to Elm Drive, School Street (from First Street to Fourth Street), ALSO including Beech Avenue, Willow Drive and the corner of Third and Poplar.
It is recommended that all cooking and drinking water be brought to a complete boil for five minutes before using. Please continue to boil all cooking and drinking water until town employees say it is no longer necessary.
Until this drinking water problem is resolved, town officials also are asking residents to conserve water and only use what is necessary for household and personal needs.
“We appreciate your cooperation during this time and will update you as necessary until the drinking water problem has been solved,” a notice from Centerville Water Works said. “We are sorry for this inconvenience, but this is necessary for the protection of your health.”
Those with questions are asked to call (765) 855-5515 during normal business hours (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Mondays-Fridays).
