RICHMOND, Ind. – Leonard Starling “Star” Kutche, age 97, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Arbor Trace Exceptional Senior Living.
Born February 20, 1920, in Dayton, Ohio, to James George and Florence Hall Parr Kutche, Star lived in this community most of his life.
He was a 1936 graduate of Morton High School. Star served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He retired from Alcoa after 30 years of service and had formerly worked at Belden for 20 years and for International Harvester. Star was a member of the American Legion Harry Ray Post #65 and VFW Kirk-Little Post 1108. He was an avid sportsman and loved horse racing.
Survivors include his siblings, Dorothy Kilgus of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Wilbur (Pauline) Kutche, Gloria Jacobs, and Joyce Ach, all of Richmond, and June Brooks and Donald (Martha) Kutche, both of Fountain City, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jeanette Reece; and brothers, Kenneth Webb and George Kutche.
Visitation for Leonard Starling “Star” Kutche will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at Mills Funeral Home with Bishop Jeff Baker officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
