Maggie Swogger, 53, Connersville, devoted wife and mother, passed away Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Reid Health in Richmond after a sudden and brief illness.
Born Margaret Ann McFeely on August 3, 1967, she was the daughter of Michael and Maxine McFeely. Maggie grew up in Richmond but moved to Connersville, where she lived most of her adult life. With her husband and three boys, she enjoyed her home, cooking, swimming, and watching old sit-coms on television.
Maggie was active at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, where she often participated in Adoration of the Eucharist. She had previously worked at McDonalds, and prior to moving to Connersville, she worked at Clara’s Pizza King in Richmond, where she met her husband. Maggie and Tony Swogger were married on December 17, 1986 and would go on to raise three boys. Maggie was also an organ donor in hopes of saving other lives in the future.
Maggie is survived by her husband, Tony Swogger of Connersville; her children, Ted (Hannah) Swogger of Indianapolis, Mike Swogger and Jake Swogger, both of Connersville; her brothers Mike McFeely of Connersville and Dan (Sue) McFeely of Carmel; her sister Samantha Lamar of Carmel; brothers and sisters in law, Ronald and Juanita Swogger of Louisville, Kentucky, Ken and Lin Swogger of Kendallville, Indiana, Bob and Robin LaCrosse of Evansville, Indiana, and John Hovarter of Corona, Indiana; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Maxine McFeely; her sisters, Catherine and Abigail; her grandparents, Charles and Waneta Anderson; her paternal grandparents, William and Mary McFeely; and her mother-in-law, Barbara Hovarter.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with Reverend Dustin Boehm officiating, followed by interment of ashes at Dale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Miller Moster Robbins Funeral Home in Connersville is in charge of arrangements.
