Mary Naomi Soliday born October 7, 1922 in Spiceland, Indiana to Forrest King and Laura May Ricks King Baker. She married Sylvan G. Soliday on November 18, 1939.
She attended Spiceland and New Castle schools. She worked at the Ashland School cooking for the student body for 10 years. She was a Henry County Extension Homemakers – Live and Learn Club Rural Learning for over 50 years. She also volunteered at the Wilbur Wright Birthplace. She taught Sunday School at the Baptist Church on 14th Street for many years before moving to Chicago Corner Church where she was active in the Mary Martha’s Women’s group.
She is survived by her children, Sylvia Ward (Richard), Glenda Sue Owens (Ron Hadd), Juanita Ammerman (Phil), Max Soliday (Debbie); grandchildren, Scott Ward (Kim), Lori Miller (Patrick), Melissa Lapin (Scott), Amanda Owens, Jeffrey Owens, Mary Beth Kumler (Jeff), Gregory Ammerman, Jayson Soliday (Nicole), Holli Shields (Tim), Veronica Hadd; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Ward (Stacie), Tara Ward, Kalie Anderson, Dylan Jones (Angela), Carrie Limeberry (Marty), Mason and Grace Kumler, Wesley and Samuel Soliday, Ross and Cortney Lapin, LeAnna Owens, Ainsley and Arden Shield; great-great grandchildren, Jaime, Ali, Nathan and Lyndee Ward, Jackson Anderson, Annalise Williams, Aiden and Caleb West-Jones and another one due in December. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Louise; her husband of 60 years, Sylvan Soliday; two sons, Robert and Paul Soliday; one granddaughter, Julie Gayle Ward.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Chicago Corner Church in New Castle with Reverend Roger Hendricks officiating. Burial will follow at Chicago Corner Cemetery.
