Ruthann Hawk, 82, of New Castle passed away Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Hickory Creek. She was born July 21, 1938 in New Castle to the late George and Delma (Wolf) Forbes.
Ruthann retired from Citizens State Bank following 34 years of service. She was a former member of the United Women’s Circle and Trinity United Methodist Church where she was the church treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She was currently a member of Straughn Community Church. Ruthann also was a 4-H leader, loved reading books, going to the library, yard work and especially spending time with grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her son, Richard (Lisa) Hawk of Middletown, daughters, Joyce (Dave) Branham of New Castle, Judith (Joe) Mathis of Indianapolis, Jeanette (Jamie) Beale; grandchildren, Amber (Chris) Hartgrove, Amanda Branham, Aria Hawk (Nathan), Dustin Rogers, Kory Rogers, Rachel (Josh) Julien, Mason and Serena Beale; great-grandchildren, Decklan, Haeven, Taniah, Trace, Riley, Lesley, Adrian, Hazel, Kaden and Peyton; God-daughter, Mary Palmer; special friends, Bill and Tena Palmer and Lana Jones and a sister, Loretta (Donald) Van Metre of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Fred Hawk; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Beth Forbes.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Dave Branham and Bill Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12 at the funeral home.
