Richmond Community Schools Board of School Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Todd Terrill announced late Monday night (July 13) that he is resigning to accept the superintendent position at Crown Point Community School Corporation in Crown Point, Indiana.
“After five years of serving as superintendent of RCS, I made the decision to pursue another opportunity to further my growth as an educational leader,” Terrill said in a news release.
“Richmond has been our home for 15 years and we will always think of Richmond as home. As I reflect on the time I have served as your superintendent, I am thankful for the opportunity to work with so many great individuals. During this time, we have experienced many accomplishments. We have also experienced many difficult times and the thing that comes to my mind is the manner in which our community came together to support our students, faculty, and staff members and it is with great pride that I say, We R Richmond.”
To facilitate Terrill’s relocation, the district announced that Assistant Superintendent Jennifer O’Brien will be taking over day-to-day operations and the RCS Board of School Trustees will assign an interim superintendent to oversee operations as they begin the search process for a new superintendent.
“We appreciate Dr. Terrill’s 5 years of leadership service to RCS students and their families,” said Brad Walton, school board president, in the release. “We want to assure families, staff and the entire RCS community that we are committed to making this transition as seamless as possible as we continue preparing for the 2020-2021 school year.”
