CENTERVILLE, Ind. – Marvin Roth Railsback, age 69, of Centerville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2017, at his home.
Born October 24, 1948, in New Castle, Indiana, to Marvin Albert and Evelyn Maxine Bertsch Railsback, Marvin was a life-long resident of Wayne County. He attended Germantown Elementary and Centerville High School. Marvin was a member of the National Honor Society, FFA, and the Wayne County 4-H Club, where he won Grand Champion for pen of three hogs. When his mother called him Marvin Roth, he knew he was in trouble. His long time friend, the late Jerry Wilson and his wife, Vicky Wilson, introduced him to Rebecca S. “Becky” Williamson, to whom he was married on January 18, 1980, at First Presbyterian Church in Lewisville, Indiana.
Marvin was a lifetime farmer who farmed with his parents in the Centerville area. He attended Centerville Christian Church. Marvin enjoyed watching sports on television with his wife, Becky; card parties with his friends, Vicky and Jerry Wilson; and giving unique Christmas presents to his mother. He loved his daughter, Malinda Railsback and granddaughter, Heavin Lynn Railsback.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Rebecca “Becky” Railsback; daughter, Malinda J. (fiancé, Terence McDaniel) Railsback of Richmond, Indiana; granddaughter, Heavin Lynn M. Railsback of Richmond; sisters, Shirley Sue Cheek of Richmond and Beverly D. Railsback of Lambertville, New Jersey; brother, Paul Warner (Jeanette) Railsback of East Germantown, Indiana; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Tony) Hickman of Lewisville, Indiana; brother-in-law, Ted Williamson of Atlanta, Georgia; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; aunts, including his favorite aunt, Anna Mary Railsback; uncles; sister-in-law, Helen Jean Williamson; and brothers-in-law.
Visitation for Marvin Roth Railsback will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2017, at Centerville Christian Church, 111 North Morton Ave., Centerville with Pastor Terry Cochran officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
