Michael Dennis Sayre, 66, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 28, 2020, after an extended illness of COPD and Emphysema, in his home in New Castle, IN.
Michael was born May 21, 1954, a son of the late Lawrence M Sayre and Esta Mae Sayre. If Michael wasn’t out on the water with a fishing pole you could find him hunting in the woods. He loved playing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and putting puzzles together in the evenings. He was a strong silent man. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Michael was a great story teller. Michael worked as a commercial painter. He was a construction worker and he also worked on the railroads. He taught the ways of a fisherman to any listening ear. Micheal will be missed dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, father Lawrence M Sayre, mother Esta Mae Sayre; wife Nancy (Gates) Sayre; uncle Ardell Sounders, niece Diana Ankrom, niece Becky Ankrom. Michael is survived by his sister Peggy Clark, his brother Dick Sayre and his wife Sherley Sayre, his sister Pricilla Ankrom and her husband John Ankrom, his brother Jerry Sayre and his wife Lavon Sayre; his children- son Michael Damien Sayre and his wife Lydia Littrell; his daughter Sara Elizabath Rader and her husband Joshua Rader; his son Samuel Robert Sayre and his wife Adrianne Sayre; his grandchildren, Taylor Johnson and her husband Joseph Johnson, Kate Martin and her husband Alan Martin, Layla Holland, Tyler Sayre, Alex Rader, Taylor Rader; great-grandchildren, Alyais Johnson and Ryker Johnson; nieces and nephews, Brenda Denny, Cathy Moore, Jonny Ankrom, Tina Newkirk, Melody Cheek, Sherry Johnson, John Michael Ankrom, Tony Sayre, Sarah Elizabeth, Kip Clark, Tonya Clark, Rick Clark.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 31, 2020 from 2p-4p at Macer-Hall Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 Broad Street in New Castle.
The funeral service will be held Monday June, 1, 2020, at 2pm, at Macer-Hall Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 Broad Street in new Castle. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle. The funeral home is honored to serve the family of Michael Dennis Sayre.
