RICHMOND, Ind. – David G. Kaucher, age 74, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at his home.
Born October 11, 1942, in Richmond, Indiana, to Iris E. and Margaret E. Jarrett Kaucher, Dave was a life-long resident of this community.
He graduated from Whitewater High School in 1960. Dave retired from Dana Corporation after serving as an engineer for 31 years. He operated Kaucher’s Tax Service for many years, as well. Dave was a member of the Richmond Emmaus Community and Centerville Christian Church, where he served as an Elder and taught Sunday school. He was a Junior Achievement Advisor and Knot Hole Baseball coach. Dave was an avid golfer, who always looked forward to his spring golf trip. He also enjoyed cooking for church dinners and fundraisers.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Marie Fields Kaucher of Richmond; sons, Mike (Amy) Kaucher of Noblesville, Indiana, and Greg (Penny) Kaucher of Richmond; grandchildren, Jacob Kaucher of San Diego, California, and Claire and Emily Kaucher, both of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends, including his best friends, Jim Pittman of New Westville, Ohio, Butch (Donna) Bowers of Richmond, and beloved dog, Izzy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Eric Kaucher; and sister, Shirley Shaw.
Visitation for David G. Kaucher was from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Centerville Christian Church, 111 North Morton Ave., Centerville. Funeral service followed at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2017, at Centerville Christian Church with Pastor Ryan McCarty officiating. Arrangements were handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
