CAMBRIDGE CITY – Delores J. Study, age 87, of Cambridge City, was called home to be with her savior on Friday, September 8, 2017 at her home.
She was born on March 11, 1930 in Straughn, Indiana to John and Pearl (Schneider) Humig. She was married August 26, 1950 to J. Howard Study, her beloved husband of 57 years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to cook and bake and loved working with her flowers. Growing up as a farmer’s daughter, she did well to become a farmer’s wife as she married, was active on the farm along with working at PC in Hagerstown, at Eavey Warehouse in Richmond and retiring with 25 years of service from Star Bank (formerly Second National Bank) in downtown Richmond. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Cambridge City in 1948. Delores was baptized in Centerville Christian Church and later had her membership transferred to the Cambridge City Christian Church.
Survivors include her two sons who continue to operate the family farm, James L. Study and Jack D. Study along with one daughter, Carol A. Study and a grandson, David M. Rohe, all of Cambridge City; brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on November 19, 2007 and both of her sisters, Kathleen Duebel and Ruth Turk.
Funeral services were Monday (September 11, 2017) at the Cambridge City Christian Church followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City. Rev. Gordon Mehaffey will officiated the ceremony.
