Marion “Junior” Blevins, 87, of Spiceland passed away Monday, April 27, 2020 at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born August 26, 1932 in Parnell, Kentucky to the late Jim and Emily (Miller) Blevins.
Junior was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a medic during the Korean War and was discharged with honors. He retired from Chrysler Corp. following 35 years of service and was a member of the Greensboro Masonic Lodge #175. Junior enjoyed working on the farm and tending to his cattle. He also enjoyed working on his machinery, cars and spending time on Lake Cumberland. Above all, Junior was a hardworking, loving husband, father and grandfather who loved being with his family and never met a stranger.
He is survived by a son, Duke Wayne Blevins of Spiceland; grandchildren, Kristina Blevins, Tinsley Washington; great granddaughter, Willow Mae Blevins; special nephew, Jerry Hollars of Markleville and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Junior is preceded in death by his loving wife, Delores Jean Blevins; daughter, Emily Kay Blevins; siblings, Dide, Frank, Columbus, Francis, Jesse, Oscar, Robert Blevins, Stella Ross, Delcie Decker and Elva Hollars.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Friends may visit from 12:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Please dress accordingly as the service and visitation will be held outdoors. Masonic services will be conducted by the Greensboro #175 and military rites will be rendered by the American Legion and VFW.
