ALBANY, IN – Amanda E. “Mick” Medler, 91, went to be with her lord and savior on Saturday evening August 12, 2017 at the home of her son, daughter in-law and granddaughter Madison in Albany, with them by her side. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. daughter of the late Nelson and Annie (Reed) Whitton.
Amanda was born in Greensburg, Indiana on March 1, 1926. She grew up in the Cambridge City area, where she attended Cambridge City High School.
Following her marriage to John, Amanda had lived in Muncie and New Castle. She worked in Muncie area restaurants, the General Motors cafeteria in Muncie and 3-M in Hartford City. Amanda enjoyed clogging, square dancing and listening to music. She provided great support in the raising of her grandchildren, as well as any child she was blessed to know. She was a very kind and giving to all.
Amanda is survived by her two children, Jack (Trula) Medler of Albany and Debbie (Billy Gene) Matthews of New Castle; six grandchildren, Shane Miller, Matt Patterson; Kristen Medler, Jess Neal, and Madison Medler, four great grandchildren, Oliver, Shara, Abbey, and Josh. and one great grandchild Averie Neal.
She is preceded in death by husband, John Medler on July 16, 2001; two siblings, Leatha Dick and Bob Whitton.
Following cremation at the Eastern Indiana Crematory of Dublin, a celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family. Amanda will be laid to rest at the South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin at a future date.
