Bobby Thomas Shrum, 77, returned to his heavenly home on the afternoon of Thursday, April 23, 2020, at Cloverleaf Healthcare in Knightsville, Indiana.

He was born on October 20, 1942, in Palmer, Tennessee, a son of the late Mose and Oleavy (Coffelt) Shrum.

Bobby was raised on a farm just outside of Mt. Summit and attended Mt. Summit High School.

He was employed by Firestone in Noblesville, retiring after 30 years of service. Bobby was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Always an independent soul and a free spirit, Bobby enjoyed visiting flea markets and swap markets, searching for and collecting his “treasures”. Whether it was an old car or an antique, he loved tinkering on his finds. He also greatly enjoyed drawing especially in the most recent years.

Bobby is survived by a son, Roger Shrum; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; step-children; a sister, Madie Knight of Fort Myers, FL; three brothers, James Wiley Shrum of Monteagle, TN, Walter David Shrum of Pilot Mountain, NC, and Michael Glenn Shrum of Emory, TX, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by a son, Robbie Shrum, and two brothers, Ronnie Jerrell Shrum, and Paul Douglas Shrum.

Due to Covid 19 restrictions, funeral services will be attended by immediate family only.

Friends and family may watch the funeral via live stream by clicking Bobby Shrum Funeral Webscast beginning at 2:00 pm Tuesday, April 28, 2020.

Public graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm in Mt. Summit Cemetery.
