United Way of Whitewater Valley appointed a new executive director, Katie Wayt. Wayt joins the nonprofit organization with decades of leadership experience. She recently served a vital role in the development and success of Indiana University Online’s Supplemental Instruction Program.
“I believe everyone has the ability to be a philanthropist,” Wayt said. “Whether someone gives financially, volunteers their time, shares their talents or simply helps connect others to opportunities, every contribution helps build a stronger community. I look forward to listening to our nonprofit partners, learning about their goals and bringing people together to create meaningful local impact.”
Wayt will continue UWWV’s mission to improve lives in Wayne and Union counties as a trusted community member, partnering with United Way’s Board of Directors, workplace partners and other agencies.
“We are excited to welcome Katie Wayt to United Way of Whitewater Valley,” said Karen Pipes, chair of the Board of Directors. “Katie is a collaborative leader. Her experience building partnerships, developing strong teams and listening to diverse perspectives makes her an outstanding fit for our organization and the communities we serve.”
Wayt is deeply rooted in the community, calling Richmond home for 26 years with her husband, Bryan, and three children.
