Whether you can carry a tune or cook great barbecue, Uncle Sam wants you at Centerville’s Archway Days. The 38th annual festival set for Aug. 21 and 22 offers a variety of activities from dusk until dawn. 

Archway Days President Kevin Branson leads the volunteer committee that executes the event each year. Branson told WWN that this year’s festivities include traditional events, like the parade and vehicle show, with the newly added talent show and BBQ cook-off. Vendors have until Aug. 20 to sign up at archwaydays.org/vendor-registration. 

Friday, Aug. 21

  • 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friends of the Centerville Library Used Book Sale, 126 E. Main St.
  • 12 p.m., Archway BBQ Contest begins, first block of West Water Street, north side
  • 3 p.m., festival opens with the  national anthem 
  • 3-10 p.m., food & craft vendors open
  • 3-9 p.m., inflatable slide, bounce houses and games in the park
  • 4-9 p.m., meet Uncle Sam wandering in the crowd
  • 4-9 p.m., Archway Days vehicle show, first block of West Water Street, south side
  • 5-6:30 p.m., Karaoke with a Cop with the Centerville Police Department
  • 6:30-7 p.m., foam party, front of stage
  • 8-11 p.m., Muzic Masterz performance 

Saturday, Aug. 22

  • 9 -10 a.m., Pedal Tractor Pull with the Centerville Police Dept. 
  • 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Friends of the Centerville Library Used Book Sale
  • 10 a.m.-9 p.m., inflatable slide, bounce houses and games
  • 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Smash-a-car event ($1 for three sledgehammer swings), East Crown Creek Blvd.
