William J. Rogers, age 75, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, October 13, 2017, at The Springs of Richmond.
Born April 28, 1942, in Richmond, Indiana, to James and Dorothy Bailey Rogers, Bill was a life-long resident of this community. He was a 1960 graduate of Richmond High School. Bill worked as a systems analyst for Belden, Alcoa, and Dana Corporation for more than 40 years and later as a security guard at Cinram Inc. for two years before retiring. He enjoyed classic cars, trains, playing cards, bowling, traveling, and going out to eat.
Survivors include his daughter, Traci (Jeff) Moistner of Richmond; sons, Terry Rogers of Richmond and Trevor (Tammy) Rogers of Eaton, Ohio; grandchildren, Harli Rogers, Austin Steck, Owen Rogers, Dakota and Courtney Childers, and Logan and Austin Moistner; great-grandchildren, Briele and Brenna; brother, Gene (Darla) Rogers of Centerville, Indiana; nieces; nephews; cousins; other extended family, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ruth Elaine Rogers, who died October 13, 2016, and parents.
Funeral services were Monday, October 16, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. James L. Girdley officiating. Burial was in West Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown.
