Winchester head coach Mike Jones looked at the balanced Centerville offense in his game preparation and concluded that the best chance for his Falcons to beat the Bulldogs was to try to take away their running game.
Bulldog sophomore quarterback Jace Hollendonner completed 18 of 28 pass attempts for 265 yards and three touchdowns, finding openings in the Falcon secondary. The Falcon front line defense clamped down, holding the Bulldogs to a season low of 38 rushing yards in an effective game plan, leading to a 28-19 upset win in the game played on Friday, Sept. 12, at Falcon Field.
The Falcons were also very efficient on offense, controlling time of possession and scoring every time they had possession until the Bulldogs blocked a fourth-quarter field goal attempt.

Jace Hollendonner connected with five receivers during the game. Shea Hollendonner led with 111 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Maddox Pritchett had 99 receiving yards and a touchdown. Roger Gipson was the leading rusher with 27 yards.

The Centerville loss leaves defending Tri-Eastern Conference champion Northeastern as the sole team remaining without a loss in conference play.
Centerville will stay in TEC play next Friday, Sept. 19, when it hosts Tri High.
