The Richmond football team made the short trip to Eaton, Ohio, on Friday, Aug. 29 to take on the Eaton Eagles. The Eagles, after losing their season opener last week to rival Greenville, jumped out to an early lead and held on for a 31-7 win.

The Red Devils had several outstanding performances and highlight moments. 

Tyziyah Stubbs had 139 rushing yards on 13 carries, including a run of 59 yards. Jai Allen added 79 rushing yards, including a run of 40 yards.

Keylin Walker threw for 79 yards, including a touchdown pass for 32 yards to Syn’cere Russell. Ian Cox also had 44 receiving yards. 

The Red Devils’ defense also stepped up. Adaiah Belcher had two tackles and assisted on eight others. Dallas Hogg, Darwyn Rowan and Zach Washington were each credited with three tackles. Dylan Issacs had two tackles, one for a loss, an assist and a sack. 

The Red Devils will return home next Friday, Sept. 5, to host Monroe Central in the first meeting between the two schools.
