The Hagerstown volleyball team hosted Morristown on Thursday, Aug. 21, in a nonconference match. The Tigers survived a late Yellow Jacket rally to win the first set and then scored the last seven points in the second set. They went on an 8-3 run to end the third set and close out the match.

The Tigers are still shorthanded. Team leader Raleigh Doerstler only appeared in part of the first set as she rehabs from an injury.

Tiger head coach Brian Dale said his young team must improve before the schedule gets more difficult. “We are young and I am proud of the way we finished, ” Dale said, “but we are making too many mistakes and have too many missed serves. We won’t get away with that against our schedule for the next few weeks. We are still playing without our powerhouse hitter (Doerstler), so when we get her back, that will help.”

The Tiger JV also won their match by scores of 25-23 and 25-15.
