The Northeastern softball team opened regular season play on Monday, April 7, with a road game against Wapahani. The Lady Raiders were no match for the Lady Knights, who collected 20 base hits en route to a 22-4 win. The game was halted after five innings because of the 10-run mercy rule. Northeastern exploded for 11 runs in the top of the second inning to put the game out of reach.

Jocelyn Allen collected four hits and drove in three runs for the winners. Hailey Elsrod and Alexis Russell also drove in three runs each, and 12 different Knights had base hits. Mackenzie Johnson was the pitcher of record for the Knights.
