The 2A seventh-ranked Northeastern Lady Knights traveled to Portland on Tuesday, Dec. 3, for a non-conference game with Jay County. The Knights, who lost their last three meetings to the Lady Patriots, led from wire to wire. 

The Knights used their defense to create offense, quickly jumping to an 11-0 lead. The Patriots tried to fight back, but the Knights held them off, taking a 32-17 halftime lead and pushing their advantage to 51-28 after three quarters. When Jayden Hildebrand scored with 22 seconds to play in the fourth quarter, it gave the Knights their largest lead of the game. 

Ava Mikesell led the winners with 18 points. Ady Kircher scored 17 points and Ariel Shuler just missed double figures with nine points. Hallie Schwieterman led Jay County with 10 points.
