Wayne County Treasurer Nancy Funk reminds residents that fall property tax payments are due Nov. 12, and there are multiple ways to pay those taxes.

Taxes may be paid at the treasurer’s office inside the Wayne County Administration Building, 401 E. Main St. from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays and from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The office will be closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day.

A drop box is located in the administration building’s south parking lot. Signs provide directions to the box on the east end of the lot. Do not place cash in the drop box. Payments are collected several times each day and security cameras monitor the box. The final drop box collection will be 11:59 p.m. Nov. 12, and any payments received after that are late.

Residents may also make payments at any First Bank Richmond location, any Wayne Bank location and at Merchants Bank. First Bank and Merchants Bank charge a $1 fee, and Wayne Bank charges a $2 fee.

Taxpayers may make their payments online at co.wayne.in.us/treasurer or by phone at 1-877-690-3729 using the jurisdiction code 2412. Service fees are charged: $4 for Visa debit cards, 2.55% of the charge amount for credit cards and E-check rates are available on the payment website.

Mailed payments must be postmarked by Nov. 12 to be considered on time. Send payments to Wayne County Treasurer, 401 E. Main St., Richmond IN, 47374. A receipt will be mailed if a self-addressed, stamped envelope is enclosed.

Wayne County offers an installment plan for paying property taxes. Contact the treasurer’s office for details.
