Doris Gene Moore, 64, of Connersville passed away Wednesday evening, July 3, 2024 at Reid Health, Connersville. She had been battling cancer for the past five months.
One of five children of Lewis A. and Georgia L. Drummonds Fraley, Doris was born in Connersville on July 20, 1959 and graduated from Connersville High School with the class of 1977. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.
On October 1, 1985, Doris enlisted to serve her country in the United States Army. She was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal on December 10, 1996.
On November 7, 2007, Doris married Jobie Moore in Connersville. Mr. Moore survives.
For many years, Doris was employed at Visteon before working as a legal secretary for the Indiana Department of Child and Family Services. She retired in 2021.
In her leisure time, Doris enjoyed crocheting, work puzzles, cooking, caring for her animals, and spending time with her family.
Besides her husband of over sixteen years, Jobie Moore, survivors include two daughters, Cherish (Crys) Kaesberg of San Antonio, Texas and Chasity (Devin) Parrett-Cook of Pflugerville, Texas; two grandchildren, Alexandria Cornett of San Antonio and Brett Cornett of Connersville; a sister, Mary (Leeroy) Congleton of Connersville; a brother, Marvin Fraley of Connersville; mother-in-law, Nila Seals of Liberty; several nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Caden Cornett; two brothers, Mike and David Fraley; father-in-law, Elbert Moore; and step-father-in-law, Robert Seals.
Family and friends may visit at a celebration of life from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. The United States Army Honor Guard and Fayette County Veterans Council will provide military honors at 6:00 p.m.
