REMC quarterly grants fund a dozen nonprofits

Whitewater Valley REMC Community Trust awarded grants to a dozen nonprofits during its first-quarter grant cycle.

The awards total $7,300.

The awards are:

• $1,000 to St. Michael School to purchase 3D printers and filament for students to create model houses with engineering and architectural skills.
• $800 to Gateway Hunger Relief Center to purchase four carts for handling food supplies.
• $750 to Boys Scouts of America Troop 6 in Cambridge City to send Scouts to summer camp.
• $750 to Friends of Union County Library for the Imagination Library book gifting program.
• $500 to Dublin Community Club to support replacing the facility’s heating and cooling systems.
• $500 to Lincoln High School Class of 2025 for after-prom.
• $500 to Hagerstown Jr./Sr. High School counseling department to provide prom dresses for students.
• $500 to Play in the Park to support Carnival Day.
• $500 to Salt of the Earth to cover the cost of drug testing and lead contamination testing.
• $500 to Randolph County Youth Leadership Council’s scholarship program.
• $500 to Liberty Volunteer Fire Department to purchase smoke detectors for the community.
• $500 to Union County Youth League to build an equipment shed.
