Nov. 13 is the deadline to pay fall property tax installments.

Wayne County Treasurer Nancy Funk indicated in a news release that taxpayers have a variety of choices for how to pay tax bills.

A treasurer’s drop box is located at the east end of the parking lot south of the Wayne County Administration Building, 401 E. Main St. Funk asks that cash not be left in the drop box. The final collection at the drop box will be midnight the night of Nov. 13-14. Any payments received after that pickup will be considered late.

Tax bills may also be paid at the treasurer’s office inside the Administration Building from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

In-person payments may also be made at First Bank Richmond, Wayne Bank and Merchants Bank locations. Wayne Bank charges a $2 fee; the others charge a $1 fee.

Online payments may be made at co.wayne.in.us/treasurer, and payments may be made by calling 1-877-690-3729 and using the jurisdiction code 2412. The county’s credit card vendor charges a service fee. The fee is $4 for a Visa debit card and 2.55% of the amount charged for credit cards. E-check rates are available on the payment website.

Payments also may be mailed to the Wayne County Treasurer, 401 E. Main St., Richmond, IN 47374. A receipt will be mailed if a self-addressed, stamped envelope is included. Mailed payments must be postmarked by Nov. 13 to be considered on time.

The treasurer’s office offers an installment plan. Contact the office at 765-973-9238 for installment plan details or with any other questions.
