Cambridge City and Milton have contested council races this fall, and Richmond voters can select their mayor and council members who will serve them in 2024 and beyond.
Other Wayne County communities did not have contested local races.
Voter registration is available at locations including the Wayne County courthouse, Bureau of Motor Vehicles license branches and offices for Family and Social Service Administration’s Division of Family and Children and workforce development.
Seventeen-year-olds can register to vote now if they will be 18 on or before Nov. 7.
Hoosiers can check their voter registration at indianavoters.com or by calling 1-866-IN-1-VOTE. They can also see who will be on their ballot by looking at the website.
Those who want to vote by mail must complete an application by Oct. 26. Applications for absentee ballots can be requested by contacting a county voter registration office or downloading and submitting the ABS-MAIL form at indianavoters.in.gov.
Voters must choose one of 12 reasons they’re eligible for an absentee ballot, such as age (65 or older), having disabilities, lacking transportation to the polls, or being confined or caregiving for someone confined to their home, care facility or hospital that day.
Those who need to request a traveling board visit them at home to cast their ballot are asked to request that service soon, but the deadline to make that request isn’t until noon Nov. 6.
