Jonathan Steele Marlow, 38, of Alexandria, and formerly of Straughn, IN, passed away at home surrounded by his family on the afternoon of Monday, August 21, 2023 following a courageous eight-year battle with brain cancer.
He was born on August 25, 1984 in Shelbyville, IN, a son of the late Patrick E. and Donna E. Marlow.
Jon graduated from Tri High School in 2003 and following his father’s footsteps he joined the United States Navy. He served honorably as a Seabee with NMCB133 stationed in Gulfport, Mississippi and completed multiple tours overseas including, Djibouti, Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq. He was a member of the American Legion Post #360 in Indianapolis.
Jon graduated with a bachelor degree in hospitality management from Chef’s Academy in Indianapolis. He managed restaurants that included Cadillac Ranch, McDonalds in Des Moines, Iowa, and Extended Stay America hotels. Jon enjoyed bowling, football and was a fantasy football champion.
