The Hagerstown boys track and field team won the Wayne County Championship for the 13th consecutive time Tuesday, April 25, but the Centerville girls halted the Hagerstown girls title streak at 12.
Each of the four schools had at least one blue ribbon winner in the boys meet. Centerville, Hagerstown and Northeastern each collected at least one blue ribbon in the girl’s meet.
Kasiti Ferrell (HHS) was the top point producer in the girls meet. Mason Romack (HHS) was the top point producer in the boys meet.
The Hagerstown boys overcame the loss of senior leader and consistent top performer Carter Jenkins, who was out with an injury, with their superior depth.
The Lady Bulldogs also used their superior depth to win the girls meet.
The winners for the girls were: Akailyn Hogg (NE) in the 100-meter and the 200-meter. Kasiti Ferriell (H) in the 400-meter. Julie Carter (C) in the 800-meter. Marissa Cates (NE) in both the 1,600-meter and the 3,200-meter. Tasha Jordan (C) in the 100-meter hurdles. Hattie Hobbs (H) in the 300-meter hurdles. Addi Mastriano (NE) in the shot put. Destinee Reece (C) in the discus. Cailin Ballenger (C) in both the high jump and the long jump. The 4×100-meter relay team of Ariel Shuler, Hashanna Clark, Akailyn Hogg and Adysson Kircher from Northeastern. The 4×400-meter relay team of Logan Klein, Izabella Thalls, Avery Blunk and Kasiti Ferriell from Hagerstown. The 4×800-meter relay team of Logan Klein, Avery Blunk, Izabella Thalls and Ava Moore from Hagerstown.
The winners for the boys were: Mason Romack (H) in both the 100-meter and 200-meter. Brody Puckett (L) in the 400-meter. Kaden Young (H) in the 800-meter. Chase Cates (NE) in both the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter. Lowell Berger (H) in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles. Mason Bowlin (H) in the shot put. Calvin Berhalter (NE) in the discus. Gary Lehman (H) in the high jump. Garrett Mull (H) in the long jump. The 4×100-meter relay team of Owen Sullivan, Lowell Berger, Garrett Mull and Mason Romack from Hagerstown. The 4×400-meter relay team of Braydon Clark, Timmy Wright, Brodie Pitstick and Conner Miller from Centerville. The 4×800-meter relay team of Nolan Drake, Bryson McFarland, Logan Smith and Lucas Chamness from Northeastern.
Final team standing boys: Hagerstown 95, Northeastern 56, Centerville 39, Lincoln 32.
Final team standings girls: Centerville 88, Hagerstown 69, Northeastern 56, Lincoln 3.
