LEWISVILLE- Dorothea Diane Blake, 80, passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.
A daughter of the late James and Florence (Shelton) Ward, Diane was born at home in Spiceland, Indiana on January 16, 1939. Diane grew up in the Spiceland community and graduated from high school there in 1957. Diane had worked as a hairdresser and at Wesley’s Market in Lewisville.
She retired from Citizens State Bank in New Castle where she was a bookkeeper. Her memberships include the Eastern Star, New Castle Moose Lodge, Card Club and Lewisville Fire Department.
In her leisure she enjoyed fishing and traveling with her late husband, Ottis, flower gardening, crocheting and spending time with her family, especially the grand and great grandchildren.
Survivors include her 3 children, James (Terril) Blake Jr. of New Castle, Denise (Tony) Vaughn of Lewisville and Tami (Keith) White of Wilkinson; grandchildren, Jeff (Brittany) Blake, Jamie (Dan) Hullings, Army Officer Todd (Faye) Land, Tara Land, Abbi and Olivia White; step-grandchildren, Justin (Cheyanne) Gabbard, Kayla (Shan) Willis; great grandchildren, Kiersten, Kameron and Karleigh Blake, Makayla and James Paul Land and Quinton Hullings; step great-grandchildren, Ava and Jackson Gabbard, Cheznie and Gentry Ison; 3 sisters, Bobbie Perkins, Nikki Mercer and Sharon Secrest; nieces and nephews.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband, James Ottis Blake on March 1, 2014. They were married in Lewisville in February 3, 1959; 1 brother James Ward.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 noon on Saturday October 5, 2019 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville Chapel. Deacon Dennis Spegal will officiate. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery.
