Construction work will reduce access to Interstate 70 lanes and road shoulders in Wayne County through Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Indiana Department of Transportation officials say the work is anticipated overnight Monday, Dec. 9 through Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Crews will continue soil boring work overnight this week in preparation for construction activities beginning in early 2025 on westbound I-70 from west of U.S. 35 to the Ohio state line.

Single-lane overnight lane restrictions will move as operations progress. Work is expected to begin around 8 p.m. and end by 6 a.m. each day.

In addition, the right shoulder of eastbound I-70 is expected to be closed during the day on Wednesday, Dec. 11. The shoulder restriction will be west of U.S. 35 and is expected to begin around 9 a.m. and end by 4 p.m.

Drivers should watch for signage as work advances to multiple locations along the interstate.

The work is weather dependent, and anticipated schedules are subject to change based on weather and other factors.

Revive I-70 includes improvements to I-70 in Wayne County from west of Cambridge City to the Indiana/Ohio state line. The corridor is more than 20 miles long. Improvements are divided into three contracts for project delivery.

INDOT officials say the project is expected to reduce corridor congestion and improve traffic flow and safety. Find more information at ReviveI70.com
