A sizable donation to a Centerville-Abington Community Schools program was the highlight of its short board meeting on Wednesday, April 22.
The board approved a $1,000 donation from Golden Engineering to Centerville Senior High School’s Business Professionals of America organization.
Golden Engineering is a Centerville-based company that designs and manufactures battery-powered, portable X-ray generators for security and light industrial applications.
The gift is the latest in a series of contributions to CSHS’ BPA chapter that have been approved at recent board meetings.
Seventy Wayne County students, including 27 from Centerville, advanced to BPA’s National Leadership Conference on May 6-10 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Centerville, Lincoln, Northeastern and Richmond chapters still welcome donations sent to their schools to defray student travel costs.
At the March state competition, Centerville students brought home two state championships and two runner-up awards, and their chapter received several awards for community service, environmental action, marketing and communications, and chapter activities.
Donations can be sent to CSHS noting they’re for BPA at 507 Willow Grove Road, Centerville, IN 47330.
