Every coach, in every sport, tries to prepare their team to play their best entering postseason play. Seton Catholic head volleyball coach Emily Tremain appears to have achieved that goal. The Cardinals traveled to Liberty on Saturday, Oct. 12, to participate in the Union County Invitational. The Cardinals, ranked seventh in 1A, were by far the smallest enrollment team in the field, which was loaded with good teams from all enrollment classes.

In pool play Seton Catholic defeated 3A Lawrenceburg 26-24 and 25-22, Northeastern 22-25, 25-21 and 15-9, and Adams Central (ranked eighth in 2A) 17-25, 25-21 and 15-12 to advance to the title match to face Jay County.

The Cardinals defeated the Patriots 27-25 and 25-23 to win the tournament and improve to 22-8 on the season.
