Western Wayne Schools’ board has created an online survey to gather feedback for its superintendent search. It’s open to all community members with internet access, not just current WWS parents. Responses are due May 30.

The board approved Superintendent Andy Stover’s resignation at its April 24 meeting, and aims to select a replacement by July 1.

The survey can be found at surveymonkey.com/r/WWSSearch. No paper copies are available.

Participants are asked to fill in three answers for each topic: The school district’s most significant strengths, most significant areas for improvement, and what the new superintendent should do after assuming leadership. There’s also an open-ended option to share thoughts with the board.

Respondents are to choose the new superintendent’s five most important personal/professional traits from a list.

Some choices involve previous experience in positions such as superintendent, Central Office administrator or building-level administrator, contract negotiation, successful referendum campaigns and school operations.

Other options include possessing a doctorate, financial background, ability to build relationships with students, staff, and community, communication skills, being a strong and visible leader in the community, and being visible and accessible in school buildings.
