Cambridge City Lincoln High School has decided to cancel its 2026 softball season because the program does not have enough players to field a team.
Lincoln softball has a rich history and is arguably the most successful program in school history.
The Eagles have been sectional champions eight times, including the 2025 season — the most of any Wayne County program.
Interest in the junior high level is very strong, so the program will likely be restored within the next two years.
