When Union County traveled to Cambridge City on Friday, Aug. 29, to face Lincoln in a Tri-Eastern Conference football game, it was a meeting of two teams desperately looking for a win. Entering the game, the visiting Patriots had lost 23 consecutive games and the hometown Eagles were on a nine-game losing streak.
Freshman Dylan Wooley threw for 176 yards and a touchdown, and sophomore running back Mason Ramsey ran for 92 yards and three touchdowns as the Patriots upset the favored Eagles 38-0.
Seniors Dustin Lunsford and Braxton Dick led the Eagle offensive effort.

Lunsford threw for 16 yards and rushed for 16 yards. Dick rushed for 12 yards. Defensively, Justin Driskill had 10 tackles for the Eagles, Carter Isaacs had eight tackles, Dick had seven tackles and Kaiden Carver added six tackles. Freshman Gaige Collins was credited with a sack.
Lincoln will stay in conference play next Friday, Sept. 5, when they travel to Tri High.
