A trailer wash is planned for a 5-acre site in the Midwest Industrial Park.
During its Feb. 12 meeting, Richmond’s Board of Public Works and Safety unanimously approved the Economic Development Corp. of Wayne County exercising its option to sell 5.731 acres north of Industries Road and west of Salisbury Road to Milestone Properties LLC. The board had approved new plats for that portion of the industrial park’s Phase I during its Jan. 15 meeting.
According to a sales agreement, Milestone will pay $14,500 per acre, with a land survey determining the parcel’s exact size. At 5.731 acres, Milestone would pay $83,099.50.
The contract also requires Milestone to invest at least $2,279,500 in the trailer wash facility and have six employees with a minimum payroll of $252,000 by the end of 2029. The number of employees and the minimum wages must be maintained for five years.
