Five individuals who’ve impacted Centerville’s law enforcement, education, medicine and business services were honored during Centerville Lions Club’s 36th annual awards dinner on Monday, April 14.

More than 60 participated in standing ovations as Outstanding Citizen plaques were presented to Dr. Wm. David Rheuble, who operated an urgent care facility for many years; Dr. Vicki DeMao, former teacher and school administrator; Police Chief Ed Buchholz, whose retirement is approaching in May, and Chad and Jennifer Robertson, who’ve owned Americana Pizza.

Jeff Locke, board member of the state Lions Club grant committee, presented a check to the Lions Club for $1,000 from the state organization’s administration. It will go toward improvements to the historic Mansion House on U.S. 40.

Committee members were Dennis Stephen, Mike McCoy and Jim Resh, who recognized previous winners.
