The Hagerstown softball team traveled to Tri High on Thursday, May 1, in a battle for first place in the Tri-Eastern Conference. Hagerstown unleashed an overpowering offense and Rylan Young turned in an outstanding pitching performance to defeat the 1A top-ranked Lady Titans 11-0 in a game halted after six innings because of the 10-run mercy rule.
Young only surrendered five hits while striking out 15 batters. Young also smacked a home run. Allison Stinson collected three hits, including two home runs. Jerycha Allred, Aaliya Anderson, Layla Cool and Mackenzee Johnson each collected two hits. Johnson tripled.
The win was the 12th consecutive regular season TEC win for the defending league champion Tigers. Stinson’s two home runs gave her the outright conference lead with seven.
