Richmond police responded to a report of a shooting early Tuesday morning (Oct. 27) on the city’s far-east side.
At approximately 1:37 a.m., third-shift patrol officers responded to a shooting call in the 1600 block of Pheasant Run in Richmond. Pheasant Run is in the Hunters Pointe subdivision.
The victim, Gabriel Vannote, 19, of Richmond, was intercepted by officers and ambulance personnel being transported to Reid Health by personal car. Vannote’s injury was not life-threatening, according to Capt. Curt Leverton.
Vannote reported being shot in the left leg during a verbal and physical altercation with another person.
Investigators were called to the scene.
Leverton said this incident does not appear to be related to previous shooting incidents.
