March 13 and 14, Hagerstown’s student performing arts club, Act I, will present its production of “Willy Wonka Jr.” The musical is an adaptation of the beloved novel by Roald Dahl.
Act I sponsors Lisa Bane and Makayla Cranfill say they have prepared students in grades 4-10 for a production that brings colorful characters and high-energy performances to life on stage.
The work itself was adapted for the stage by Leslie Bricusse and Timothy A. McDonald, with words and music by Bricusse and Anthony Newley.
Showtime for both performances is 7 p.m. at Hagerstown Jr./Sr. High School, 701 Baker Rd., Hagerstown. The lobby will open at 6 p.m., with the auditorium doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Seating is general admission. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, sold exclusively at the door.
