Head coach Rick Moore guided the Wayne County Special Olympics basketball team to the state championship in Division 3C on Sunday, March 24, defeating the Clinton County Wildcats by the score of 24-18 in the title game.
The Wayne County Special Olympics team also includes players from Fayette and Union counties.
In individual competition skills, athletes Ruby Ingram placed fourth in Division 8 and Danny Yanetsky placed third in Division 16.
