Reservations are still open to attend Wayne County’s Soil & Water Conservation District’s 2026 banquet and annual meeting. The event is Monday, Feb. 2, at the First Bank Kuhlman Center.
Admission is $10, with reservations due by Thursday, Jan. 31. The meeting and awards ceremony is catered by Radford’s and features guest speaker Bob Barr.
Board member nominees are Julie Berger and Jason Roll. District officials say this year’s election will operate differently due to a vacancy that opened last fall. Two offices — a three-year term and a one-year term — need to be filled. The nominee who receives the highest number of votes will be elected to the three-year term, with the runner-up completing the one-year term.
Current board members are Chairman Jason Ward, Secretary Lisa Bihl, Travis Frame, Mitchell Jordan and Berger, who has temporarily served since the unexpected vacancy.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with the banquet starting at 6:30. Purchase tickets ahead of time, or call 765-966-0191 to make reservations.
