Wayne County runners and teams saw their season come to an end on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Shelbyville regional. The Top 5 teams and the Top 15 individuals not on an advancing team qualified to advance to the state meet. No Wayne County team or individual runner met that standard.
In the girls race, Franklin Central, Noblesville, Hamilton Southeastern, Westfield and East Central advanced as teams. Seton Catholic finished 22nd and Richmond finished 24th in the 26-team field.
Seton Catholic placements: Gwynie Falcone 49th, Jackie Clemente 79th, Sara Swinney 134th, Jana Clemente 149th, Aubry Bihl 175th, Kelsey Brim 178th.
Richmond placements: Keena Barker 104th, Katy Peacock 111th, Lauren Newton 126th, Kemaira Farris-Craig 143rd, Lena Allen 172nd, Kyleigh Atwell 176th, Peyton Loveless 177th.
Competing as individuals: Anna Nevels (Centerville) 46th, Madelyn Green (Northeastern) 189th, Avery Blunk (Hagerstown) 198th, Abigail Smith (Hagerstown) 205th, Zaylee Payne (Hagerstown) 218th, Lily Black (Centerville ) 221st, Evie Morgan (Centerville) 222nd, Paige Dixon (Centerville) 232nd.
In the boys race, Noblesville, Hamilton Southeastern, Franklin Central, Fishers and Mount Vernon (Fortville) advanced as teams. Richmond finished 18th and Hagerstown finished 25th in the 27-team field.
Richmond placements: Xavier Ogle 41st, Cale Newton 45th, Julian Bowden 112th, Brady Newton 132nd, Brayden Villafuerte 138th, Austin Retter 151st, Trevin Crosby 161st.
Hagerstown placements: Hayden Pruitt 121st, Max Cabrera 141st, Kendrick Herr 142nd, Brock Creech 143rd, Cory Nash 148th, Benjamin Smith 160th, Braydon Sanders 166th.
Competing as individuals: Luke Chamness (Northeastern) 102nd, Jonah Cornett (Centerville) 144th, Dalton Justice (Northeastern) 189th, Zachary Kiracofe (Northeastern) 204th, Tate Chasteen (Centerville) 233rd.
