The Richmond Power & Light board awarded bids for a tow motor and tree-trimming bucket truck during its May 6 meeting.
MH Equipment Company of Dayton, Ohio, bid $43,255.73 to provide the electric tow motor with an estimated 40 weeks for delivery. MH provided the only bid that met specifications.
Altec Industries of Indianapolis bid $144,919 — after a $26,000 trade-in — to provide a 2024 Ford F750 bucket truck to RP&L’s line department. That vehicle could be delivered in 30 days.
The board, which is comprised of Richmond Common Council members, also gave RP&L permission to solicit bids for a 3.6-ton mini-excavator for the line department and a heavy-duty trailer for the mini-excavator. Both pieces of equipment were included in the 2024 budget.
