Centerville 3, Union City 2

The Centerville boys soccer team took a nonconference win at Union City on Wednesday, Sept. 23. The Indians took a 1-0 lead at halftime before the Bulldogs roared back with three goals in the second half to win 3-2 and hand Union City its second loss of the season.

Muncie Central 5, Centerville 0

The host Muncie Bearcats shut out the Bulldogs 5-0 on Thursday, Sept. 24, in a nonconference match.

Centerville girls

Greenfield-Central 5, Centerville 0 

Five different Lady Cougars scored in Greenfield-Central’s 5-0 nonconference win over the visiting Lady Bulldogs on Monday, Sept. 21. Reese Marshall was credited with 22 saves in goal for Centerville.

Centerville 3, Muncie Central 0

Visiting Centerville beat Muncie Central 3-0 in a Sept. 24 nonconference match. Madison Rowe scored two goals and Lindy Skinner scored one goal. Skinner and Kendall Nelson each had assists, and Sylvia Dam had five saves in goal. 

Richmond boys

Lafayette Jefferson 3, Richmond 2

The Richmond boys dropped a Sept. 19 North Central Conference match to host Lafayette Jefferson 3-2.

Aiden French and Bayron Garcia Gomez each scored a goal, and Ryder Morken assisted on both. 

Richmond 5, Crispus Attucks 3

The Richmond Red Devils jumped out to a commanding 5-0 lead Monday, Sept. 21, at Lyboult Field and held off a late Crispus Attucks comeback attempt to earn a 5-3 victory on Senior Night.

Bayron Garcia Gomez and Alex Mancenido each scored two goals for Richmond, and Jordan Light added a single goal. Scott Santiago Lopez and Mancenido were each credited with an assist while Ryder Morken had three assists. 

The highlight of the evening was honoring the seniors who contribute to Richmond soccer: Cayden Brann, Kevin Julian-Cruz, Bayron Garcia Gomez, Jordan Light, Scott Santiago Lopez, Jordy Mejia-Luis, Alex Mancenido, Johnathan Velasco-Martinez, Kohen Pickering and Edwin Julian-Santiago. 

Richmond girls

Richmond 4, Muncie Burris 4 

After trailing at halftime, the Lady Red Devils stormed back in the second half to force a 4-4 tie with host Muncie Burris on Saturday, Sept. 18. Harlow Flanagan recorded a hat trick (three goals). Mira Hasecoster scored the other goal. Alivia Coleman and Hasecoster were each credited with two assists. 

Richmond 3, Preble Shawnee 0

The Richmond girls didn’t surrender a goal, winning 3-0 over Preble Shawnee (Ohio), on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Lyboult Field. The Lady Red Devils improved to 8-2-1 on the season. Harlow Flanagan scored two goals, Alivia Coleman scored one goal and Mira Hasecoster assisted on all three. 

Seton Catholic boys

Indianapolis Herron 9, Seton Catholic 0

Indianapolis Herron shut out Seton Catholic on Saturday, Sept. 19, in a Pioneer Conference match. Herron built a 7-0 lead at halftime and expanded it to 9-0 in the second half. Ethan Nisewonder had 28 saves in goal for the Cardinals.  

Horizon Christian 8, Seton Catholic 2

The Seton Catholic soccer team dropped a road match to Horizon Christian on Friday, Sept. 15, by the score of 8-2. Ian Vournazos scored both goals for the Cardinals and Ethan Nisewonder was credited with 23 saves in goal.
