Richmond Fire Department’s recent recruiting efforts resulted in a six-person hiring list that the city’s Board of Public Works and Safety approved April 9.

Nick Arbogast, the department’s chief of EMS, said three openings currently exist and two or three retirements are expected this year.

The hiring list is: Jadon Kolb of Losantville; Brandon Wetherell of Panama City, Florida; Larry Wooden of Lewisburg, Ohio; Peyton Meyer of Richmond; Abraham Pierce of Lewisville; and Joseph Bennett of Williamsburg.

The board also approved an addendum to the city’s 2024 contract with Navisec LLC to provide external penetration testing of the city’s computer network. Cost is $7,650.

Navisec also provides quarterly vulnerability assessments.
