How the Referral Program Works

  1. Tell a friend or neighbor about the Western Wayne News
    Share why you subscribe and encourage them to sign up.
  2. They subscribe for the first time to an annual print subscription
    At the time of purchase, they must mention your name as the referring subscriber.
  3. They stay subscribed for at least 30 days
    This ensures the subscription is active beyond our satisfaction guarantee period.
  4. You receive your reward
    After the first 30 days, your subscription will be extended by 3 months.

What You Earn

  • 3 free months per successful referral
  • Unlimited referrals, no maximum rewards
  • Extensions are applied to your current subscription term, pushing out your renewal date.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the referral reward:

  • The referred subscriber must:
    • Be a new customer (no prior subscriptions)
    • Purchase a full-price annual print subscription or print + online combination subscription
  • The referring subscriber’s name must be provided at the time of purchase.
    • If creating a subscription by mailing in a check, they must include your name as the referrer in writing.
    • If creating a subscription by phone payment, they must indicate you are the referrer when calling.
    • If creating a subscription online, they must respond to the order confirmation email or send a new email to us the same day the order is placed, indicating your name as the referrer for their subscription.
    • Please make sure the new subscriber uses your name as it appears on your WWN mailing label or account.
  • The new subscription must remain active for at least 30 days
  • Referral credit is only available to current subscribers.

What Doesn’t Qualify

The referral program does not apply to:

  • Subscription renewals
  • Restarted or previously canceled subscriptions
  • Discounted or promotional rates
  • Monthly or annual online subscriptions
  • Referrals where the referring subscriber is not clearly identified at signup
  • Referrals from Civic Spark Media / Western Wayne News employees, contractors or affiliates

When You’ll See Your Reward

  • Referral extensions are made after the new subscriber’s first 30 days
  • Your subscription expiration date will be extended accordingly
  • You will not receive cash or account credit. Extensions are applied directly to your subscription and are not transferrable or refundable.

Program Limits

While there is no limit to valid referrals:

  • Self-referrals or attempts to game the system will result in disqualification
  • The Western Wayne News reserves the right to deny or revoke referral extensions if terms are violated, or at our discretion
  • Program terms may be updated at any time
