Strong pitching performances in both games of a doubleheader helped the Red Devils sweep Mount Vernon’s Marauders, a potential sectional opponent, in Fortville on May 2.
Game 1: Richmond 6, Mount Vernon 2
Cameron Rodriquez turned in a complete game performance, limiting the Marauders to three hits. Led by Darwyn Roman, who collected a double and triple during the game, the Red Devils scored three runs in the top of the seventh inning to break up a close game and take a 6-2 win.

Game 2: Richmond 2, Mount Vernon 0
Juday turned in another pitching gem in the second game, only allowing two hits and striking out 11. Juday and Jaxsen Demos played a pitcher’s duel for seven innings. The Red Devils scored the only runs of the game when they plated two runs in the top of the fourth inning. Jayvian Burdette, who collected two hits for the Red Devils, was the only player for either team with more than one hit.
